Getting to the Mentawai Islands could be a bit challenging and there are a few steps involved. The Mentawai’s principal airport is Padang (PDG). Direct flights are accessible from Kuala Lumpur as well as the Indonesian airports of Jakarta, Batam, and Medan. When you arrive in Padang, the way to get to there is by public ferry, speedboat, or surf charter boat.
